No! Ailey Extension Kids & Teens classes are open to all dancers, no audition required.
The Ailey Extension Kids & Teens classes are all open-level classes. We welcome children of all dance backgrounds including absolute beginner students. Classes are determined by age, not dance level.
While there is no strict dress code at Ailey Extension, we suggest that students wear form-fitting dance wear to class. Students are asked to wear ballet shoes for ballet classes and clean sneakers for hip hop classes.
Tiny Steps students and chaperones are encouraged to wear easy-to-move-in clothing and socks/bare feet.
In order to maximize the experience for all children enrolled in the class, students are permitted a 10-minute grace period for tardiness. Students will not be permitted in class after that 10-minute period.
Make-up classes are not offered for any missed Kids & Teens classes. Students may only attend classes for which they are registered and all Extension class purchases are non-refundable.
Yes! A chaperone must be present with the child in order to attend Tiny Steps. Only one chaperone is permitted per student.
